www.hcn.org - the High Country News
Billing itself as "a paper for people who care about the West", the High Country News is published bi-weekly and reports on natural resources, public lands, and timely important issues in the West. The writing is always first rate, particularly through the Writers on the Range program. Subscriptions are available.

There is a very good essay entitled, "The Mythic West and the Billionaire", which provides a general background to my work and touches on issues with regard to unspoiled, romanticized (read: traditional) landscapes.

KYGT is an all-volunteer, locally-owned, listener-supported, non-commercial community radio station located in the Clear Creek Valley 35 miles west of Denver, originally founded in 1995 as a cable broadcast.

That little ol' band from Australia - these guys have been one of my favorite bands since the early 80's - and you've probably never heard of them. They're all artists too. You can view some of their art on their website as well as their entire discography and a surf report.

www.littlemary.com - The official website for Little Mary, powerhouse female blues singer extraordinaire from Denver, currently on sabbatical & we all miss her. Visit the website to get her schedule and to purchase her CDs. "How long has it been since you had the blues? Little Mary will give 'em to ya." And she will too.

www.elliottmurphy.com - One of the most literate singer/songwriters American rock 'n' roll has ever produced with albums like "Lost Generation" and the timeless song "Diamonds by the Yard". Ex-New Yorker now living in Paris has put together a very impressive body of work for over 30 years now.

www.stevewynn.net - The website for Steve Wynn, former lead singer & guitarist of the seminal 80's band, The Dream Syndicate, and a solo artist based out of Tucson, AZ. Excellent songwriter & musician. Check out his epic double-album "Here Come the Miracles", and also his work with his new band, The Miracle 3.

www.stanridgway.com - The website for Stan Ridgway, former lead singer for 80s New Wave band Wall of Voodoo and the inimitable voice on "Mexican Radio", now a solo artist with an impressive body of work. Another great songwriter whose songs tell uncompromising stories of the West. Check out his albums "Black Diamond" and "Snakebite: Blacktop Ballads and Fugitive Songs."
